FOX Broadcasting engaged iX.co to re-invent American Idol, one of its most prized assets. The mission was to refresh the brand in digital, with a focus on mobile platforms and social distribution.

The following year, they turned to us to develop their new fan experience, #IdolPredictions. Launching in advance of the Top 10, the #IdolPredictions game tests IDOL fans’ ability to successfully “judge” the Top 10 finalists on their talent, style and star presence.

Following the AMERICAN IDOL XIV Top 10 performance show each week, fans could earn points online by both correctly picking which finalists will move on to the next round, and accurately ranking the finalists based on who is most buzzed about on Twitter. If fans missed the opening round, they were able to join the game at any point throughout the competition. Each week, the Top Five players were featured on the #IdolPredictions leaderboard.
